This is one of the finest pieces of a Doug Fir slab that I have been privileged  to work with this summer.  Originally, I was going to make this one a Horseshoe Board.  But then I realized its highest and best use was as a .223 Caliber Cribbage Board.  The margins, proportions and overall layout are near perfect for the .223 diameter pegs.  Plus, it has one of the highest percentages of live edge bark. 

The thickness of the slab was "just right" for the depth needed for these pegs.  It's a very beautiful board and will be a forever joy to play cribbage on.

I am charging extra for this one.  It's $60 and includes a five pegs and brand new cards.

 

Yes, the pegs truly are INERT.  They have NO powder and a spent primer.  The range brass casings were resized so that a new bullet could be crimped in.  But they are 100% dummy rounds.
